Chocolate Fudge Cake | Tea Recipes

Meredith Sweetpea thinks there is nothing better than a chocolatey, fudgy cake with tea. Here’s a recipe you might want to try.

  • 4 oz margarine
  • 10 oz sugar
  • 6 oz sifted flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 oz cocoa powder
  • 1 TBSP milk
  • 2 drops vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • icing sugar
  1. Grease two 9″ cake pans and preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Melt margarine in a pan.
  3. Place sugar in a mixing bowl and add melted margarine. Mix well. Beat in eggs, add the sifted flour, cocoa and salt, and 1 TBSP milk. When mixed, stir in vanilla. Mix well to give a stiff consistency.
  4. Line pans with waxed paper and pour mixture into pans. Smooth tops and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
  5. When cooled, dust tops of cakes with icing sugar, cut into pie-shaped segments, and remove from pans. Serve the same day.
